Leadership development that makes a real difference

Better leadership isn't just about what people know. It's about what they do.

Learn more

Whether it's making better decisions, having difficult conversations, giving effective feedback or building stronger relationships, the real value of leadership development lies in how people put their learning into practice.

That's why we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

We work with organisations to understand the challenges their leaders face, the capabilities they need to develop and, most importantly, what they need to be doing differently.

From there, we design practical, engaging learning experiences that reflect your organisation, your people and the realities of their working lives.

How we can work together

Depending on what your organisation needs, that might include:

  • Leadership workshops: Focused, interactive sessions that develop specific skills and tackle common leadership challenges.
  • Leadership development programmes: A structured approach to building confidence and capability over time.
  • Group coaching: A collaborative space for leaders to explore challenges, share perspectives and learn from one another.
  • 1:1 leadership coaching: Individual support to help leaders navigate complex situations, strengthen their leadership and perform at their best.

Whatever the format, the focus is always on practical application. Leaders have opportunities to reflect, practise new skills, work through real challenges and build the confidence to do things differently.

Because successful leadership development isn't measured by what happens in the room. It's measured by what changes afterwards.

“From the conversations and the engagement of the team it is clear all have learnt some valuable tips and techniques that will help us be more influential in our stakeholder engagements: the early results were evident today!”

Learning is useful. Being able to apply it when it matters is better.

At Viv Bowra Consulting, we start from a simple premise: people are already capable.

The interesting question is what helps them access more of that capability when they’re under pressure, navigating uncertainty or dealing with other human beings who aren’t necessarily behaving according to the leadership textbook.

Our approach combines evidence-based leadership development with coaching and an understanding of how our brains and bodies respond under pressure.

That means people learn useful skills and have plenty of opportunity to practise, experiment and get feedback they can actually use.

We pay attention to what’s happening in the room as well as what’s on the agenda. We notice patterns in language and behaviour, ask “What are you noticing here?” and encourage people to spot and explore those patterns for themselves.

And we give feedback. Specific, useful feedback on what we’re seeing and hearing, so people understand not only what they’re doing, and the impact it’s having.

Leadership Coaching Days

Dedicated time and space to explore real leadership challenges

It might be:

  • An important decision.

  • A difficult conversation.

  • A relationship that's proving tricky.

  • A high-stakes meeting.

  • Or simply the opportunity to untangle their thinking with someone who will listen, challenge and help them see things differently.

A Leadership Coaching Day gives up to five of your leaders access to a focused 60-minute 1:1 coaching session.

They bring a real leadership challenge. We bring fresh perspectives, practical tools and straight-talking support to help them understand what's getting in the way, explore their options and decide what to do next.

Simple to organise

You book the day and decide which leaders have access. We'll provide a private booking link and four simple questions to help each person arrive ready to make the most of their session.

Start with one day and book further days at a frequency that works for your organisation. Leaders can use a single session to work through a particular challenge or return on a future Coaching Day for accountability and continued development.

Confidential for your leaders. Valuable for your organisation.

Individual coaching conversations remain confidential, giving leaders the freedom to speak openly and explore the challenges they're facing.

When we work together regularly, we'll also arrange a quarterly leadership development review. This gives us an opportunity to step back and look at the bigger picture, bringing together anonymised themes from the coaching and your own observations of leadership across the organisation.

It's a way to support individual leaders while also identifying patterns, challenges and opportunities that can inform wider leadership development.

Steady Under Pressure

Focused 1:1 Leadership Coaching for the moments that matter

Even the most capable leaders can find themselves struggling in situations where the pressure is on.

They might hold back in an important meeting, avoid a difficult conversation, second-guess a decision or struggle to communicate confidently when challenged.

Often, it's not a lack of knowledge or skill that's holding them back. They already know what to do, but something gets in the way of putting it into practice.

Sometimes the answer isn't more training. It's helping people access the capability they already have.

From knowing what to do to being able to do it

Steady Under Pressure is a focused 1:1 coaching session that helps leaders work through a specific workplace challenge where pressure, uncertainty or self-doubt is affecting how they show up.

We combine leadership coaching, nervous system awareness and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) to help individuals understand what's happening, work with what's getting in the way and respond with greater confidence and choice.

Each session focuses on a real situation, helping the individual to:

  • Recognise the patterns and responses that emerge under pressure.
  • Explore what's getting in the way of using their existing skills.
  • Find new perspectives and ways of responding.
  • Identify a practical next step they can put into action.

The aim isn't simply to help someone feel better in the moment. It's to help them approach the situations that matter with greater clarity, confidence and effectiveness.

Simple, focused support

Each session begins with a short reflection to identify the situation the individual wants to work on.

During the session, we explore the challenge, identify what's getting in the way and use coaching and EFT to help create movement.

They leave with a clear next step, a concise written summary and a personalised EFT audio to support them afterwards.

There's no need to commit to a lengthy coaching programme. Start with one focused session and explore further support if it's needed.

Helping capability translate into action

Steady Under Pressure complements existing leadership development by addressing a challenge that training alone doesn't always resolve.

Where leaders already have the knowledge and skills, but struggle to access them consistently under pressure, this focused approach can help bridge the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it.

Because developing capable leaders isn't just about what they learn. It's about helping them use what they know when it matters most.

Great organization and material. Viv is a phenomenal facilitator.

Thank you for making each session a relaxed, fun environment and thanks for the useful feedback.
